Police in Kansas City, Kansas, have identified the victim and a suspect following a deadly shooting that occurred Saturday night.
According to the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department, Asael Linares, 35, was found suffering from gunshot wounds inside a home in the 600 block of Ridgeview. Linares, who lived at the residence, was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Authorities say the shooting happened just before midnight on Saturday when officers responded to reports of gunfire at the residence.
Investigators have charged Martin Daniel Lopez, 18, in connection with the case. Lopez has been charged with second-degree murder and is currently being held in the Wyandotte County Jail on a $250,000 bond, according to police.
The case remains under active investigation.
