A road rage incident escalated into a dangerous situation Tuesday evening, leading to the arrest of a suspect who allegedly discharged a firearm in a public area.

Incident Details

According to authorities, the incident occurred on March 31, 2026, at approximately 5:30 p.m. in the 6200 block of Lake Worth Boulevard. Dispatchers with the NWECC received multiple calls reporting a shooting connected to a road rage dispute.

During the confrontation, 35-year-old Steven Reeves, of Lakeside, allegedly produced a firearm, pointed it at witnesses, and fired at least one shot into the air.

Fortunately, no injuries or property damage were reported.

Swift Police Response

Officers with the Lake Worth Police Department responded quickly, locating the suspect vehicle within a short time of the initial call.

Reeves was taken into custody without further incident.

Evidence Recovered

During a search of the vehicle, officers reportedly discovered narcotics in addition to the firearm. The findings led to multiple additional charges beyond those related to the shooting.

Charges Filed

Reeves is currently facing several serious charges, including:

4 counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon
Deadly Conduct
Possession of a Firearm by a Felon
Possession of a Controlled Substance (Penalty Group 1 under 1 gram and Penalty Group 2 between 4g and 400g)
Possession of a Dangerous Drug
Assisting Agencies

The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office, along with members of its Crime Scene Unit, assisted in processing evidence and supporting the investigation.
