The Springfield community is grieving the tragic loss of Benjamin Boutwell, 22, who died early Monday morning, March 30, 2026, following a violent incident at 1940 S. Ingram Mill. Benjamin was discovered with stab wounds by responding Springfield police officers around 3:52 a.m. He was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
Also involved in the incident was Julian Davis, 21, who was found at the scene with gunshot wounds. Davis was transported to a local hospital and remains in critical but stable condition. A third individual, known to both Benjamin and Julian, sustained minor injuries. Authorities have confirmed that all parties involved were acquainted and that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
Benjamin’s life, though tragically cut short, touched the hearts of family, friends, and the Springfield community. He is remembered for his energy, warmth, and the moments of joy he brought to those around him.
