The Springfield community is grieving the tragic loss of Benjamin Boutwell, 22, who died early Monday morning, March 30, 2026, following a violent incident at 1940 S. Ingram Mill. Benjamin was discovered with stab wounds by responding Springfield police officers around 3:52 a.m. He was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Also involved in the incident was Julian Davis, 21, who was found at the scene with gunshot wounds. Davis was transported to a local hospital and remains in critical but stable condition. A third individual, known to both Benjamin and Julian, sustained minor injuries. Authorities have confirmed that all parties involved were acquainted and that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
