Police responded to reports of gunfire in the 3100 block of West 46th Street on March 24, where they discovered three teenage victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers immediately began administering aid while awaiting emergency medical services.

All three victims were transported to MetroHealth Medical Center for treatment. Ecaurion Wymes, 18, later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, officials confirmed. He is the only fatality in the incident.

The two other teenagers who were wounded remain hospitalized. Their current conditions have not been publicly disclosed.

Investigators have not yet released details regarding what led to the shooting, and no suspects have been identified. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing as they work to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Community members who knew Wymes described him as a bright and energetic young man with aspirations for his future. His death comes just as he was entering adulthood, leaving family and friends grieving a life cut tragically short.

Wymes’ family has requested privacy during this difficult time.

Police are urging anyone with information related to the shooting to come forward as the investigation continues.
