Martin Alexander Gonzales Car Accident: One Dead, Four Injured in Gaines County Two-Vehicle Accident

A tragic two-vehicle crash in Gaines County left one person dead and four others injured Wednesday evening, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).

The collision occurred around 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of FM 2055 and FM 2056. DPS reports that a GMC Sierra, traveling west on FM 2056, failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a Ford F-150 heading north on FM 2055. The impact caused the Ford to roll over.

A passenger in the GMC, 19-year-old Martin Alexander Gonzales Rangel of Denver City, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the GMC sustained minor injuries and was transported to Yoakum County Hospital. Two additional passengers in the same vehicle suffered serious injuries and were also taken to the hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Ford F-150 was seriously injured and transported to University Medical Center in Lubbock.

Authorities say the crash remains under investigation as they work to determine the exact circumstances leading to this tragic accident.
