A mom in Brazil is a free woman after a jury cleared her in the death of her boyfriend. She said she acted when she walked in on him trying to SA her young daughter.
Erica Pereira da Silveira Vicente caught Everton Amaro da Silva in the act with her 12-year-old daughter back on March 11, 2025. Vicente confessed right away. She told police she spiked his drink with the sedative Klonopin to knock him out, then stabbed and beat him until he died. A 17-year-old teen allegedly helped her carry the body to a vacant lot nearby. There, she cut off his genitals and set the remains on fire.
She faced charges of aggravated homicide and hiding a corpse. Prosecutors argued the drugging and extra steps showed cold planning instead of a sudden rage. Vicente spent roughly a year locked up waiting for trial.
On Tuesday, after just one day of testimony in Belo Horizonte’s 2nd Jury Court, the jury sided with her claim that she did it to protect her daughter. Judge Maria Beatriz Fonseca Biasutti cleared her of all wrongdoing.
