William Otis Miller Death, Obituary: With deep love and heartfelt remembrance, we celebrate the life of William Otis “Bill” Miller, who peacefully stepped into eternity on March 15, 2026, entering the arms of his Savior at Deaconess Hospital. His passing marks the end of a long and meaningful journey filled with devotion, faith, and unwavering love for his family.
Bill was born on October 18, 1936, to Edna and William Miller, the only son among four children. He grew up in Evansville and graduated from Bosse High School. Shortly after, he answered the call to serve his country, proudly enlisting in the United States Navy, where he served from 1955 to 1962. As a radioman aboard the USS Nimble, Bill experienced adventures that shaped his character and deepened his sense of duty and resilience.
Upon returning home, Bill met the love of his life, Sharon, and the two were married on March 15, 1958. Together, they built a life grounded in faith, love, and family. Their marriage was a testament to commitment and devotion, lasting decades and creating a legacy that lives on through generations.
Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is lovingly remembered by his five children—Rhonda (Darrell), Karen (Scott), Lori (Tommy), Billy (Angie), and Tricia (Bryce)—as well as his fifteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. His family was the center of his world, and everything he did was driven by his deep love for them.
After the passing of his beloved wife Sharon, Bill carried her memory in his heart every day. He mourned her deeply, holding onto the love they shared throughout the years. There is comfort in knowing that on what would have been their 68th wedding anniversary, he was reunited with her—a beautiful and meaningful moment that brings peace amid the sorrow.
Bill’s life was defined by faith, service, and devotion. He lived with a quiet strength and a steadfast belief in God, instilling those values in his children and grandchildren. His legacy is one of love, resilience, and unwavering commitment to family.
Though his passing leaves a deep ache in the hearts of those who loved him, there is also comfort in the faith he lived by—the belief that this goodbye is not forever. His family holds tightly to the promise that they will see him again.
Rest in peace, Bill. Your love, your faith, and your legacy will live on through the generations you helped shape.
