A tense standoff in Dallas ended in tragedy when a man, formerly associated with Rep. Jasmine Crockett’s security team, was shot and killed by police. The incident unfolded at the Children’s Medical Center parking lot, where officers from the Dallas Fugitive Unit were investigating a “wanted suspect,” according to Dallas Police Chief Daniel C. Comeaux.
Authorities reported that the man, later identified as 39-year-old Diamon-Mazairre Robinson, also known by the alias Mike King, barricaded himself in a vehicle before emerging armed. When he reportedly pointed a gun at responding officers, police fired, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Robinson’s history included multiple arrests, spanning misdemeanor and felony charges. Under the alias Mike King, he established several businesses, including a firm that helped off-duty police officers find job placements. Sources also said he oversaw security teams at downtown Dallas hotels and at his church, highlighting his extensive experience in the field.
Robinson’s connection to Rep. Jasmine Crockett, who recently campaigned for the U.S. Senate, drew attention given his prior role on her security team. Neither Crockett’s office nor the Dallas Police Department responded immediately to requests for comment.
The incident has left the community and law enforcement grappling with questions about the events that led to the deadly confrontation. It also underscores the challenges officers face when attempting to safely resolve situations involving armed suspects.
