BPD BREAKING UPDATE
During continued investigation, authorities determined that Marshall Middle School was also struck by gunfire connected to the Rogers Park shooting that occurred around 6:15 p.m. Sunday. The incident left two people injured and several nearby homes damaged by gunfire. Fortunately, officials say the injuries reported are not considered life-threatening.

Detectives with the Beaumont Police Department (BPD) have secured three warrants for Deadly Conduct in connection with the case. The warrants have been issued for Dontae Perkins (19), Christopher Herring (18), and Alexander Perkins (18).


The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) Warrant Division located and arrested Dontae Perkins, while the Beaumont Police Department’s Special Assignment Unit (SAU) apprehended Christopher Herring.
Alexander Perkins remains at large and currently has an active warrant. Authorities warn that he should be considered armed and dangerous.

BPD detectives are continuing the investigation and are working alongside BISD Police Department and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office to identify and locate any additional suspects involved. More updates will be released as new information becomes available.
