Authorities are investigating a shooting that left two adults wounded and several nearby homes damaged by gunfire at Rogers Park in Beaumont on Sunday evening. Police say the incident unfolded around 6:15 p.m., prompting a large law-enforcement response to the area.
According to the Beaumont Police Department, multiple shots were fired during the incident, striking two individuals and several surrounding residences. Both victims were transported for medical treatment, and officials say their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Investigators also discovered that Marshall Middle School was hit by gunfire connected to the same incident, raising additional concerns about the potential danger to the surrounding neighborhood.
Detectives have been actively following leads and are now asking for the public’s help in identifying a person of interest who may have information about the shooting. Authorities believe additional individuals may have been involved and say the investigation remains ongoing.
Police are continuing to gather evidence, review surveillance footage, and speak with witnesses as they work to determine what led to the gunfire and who was responsible.
