With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, the South Bend community is mourning the tragic loss of Kendall Ashley, who died following a late-night crash on State Road 933 in St. Joseph County.
According to authorities, the fatal crash occurred just after 10:00 p.m. along State Road 933, south of Darden Road. Police responding to the scene discovered a single vehicle that had crashed near the La Quinta Inn & Suites.
Officials said the driver, identified as Kendall Ashley of South Bend, was the only person inside the vehicle at the time of the crash. Emergency responders arrived shortly after the incident was reported, but Ashley was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities say no other vehicles were involved in the crash. Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident, including possible roadway conditions and other factors that may have contributed to the collision.
