Authorities have identified the victims of a tragic two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 93 near Arlee as Bryeanna Brazill and her 1-month-old infant. The fatal head-on collision occurred Monday night, with the crash reported to Lake County dispatch at approximately 9:38 p.m. near the 21-mile marker.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol, a northbound vehicle crossed the double yellow center line and collided with an oncoming vehicle. Emergency responders arriving at the scene found two heavily damaged vehicles. Brazill, who was driving the passenger car, and her infant were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle, described as a full-size truck, sustained minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Officials said the injuries were non-life-threatening.
The Montana Highway Patrol is leading the investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision, including roadway conditions and vehicle evidence. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is conducting the coroner investigation and will perform autopsies on both victims.
In a statement, the sheriff’s office expressed condolences to the Brazill family during what they described as an incredibly difficult time. Community members and local leaders have shared messages of sympathy as the investigation continues.
