A woman is facing a murder charge after police say she admitted to shooting a man accused of inappropriately touching a child, leaving his body in the roadway in the early morning hours.
On February 26, 2026, police say officers discovered a man lying in the roadway in the Willowview area of Memphis, Tennessee shortly before 2:00 a.m. An officer on patrol initially spotted the body and called for assistance.
The victim was identified as Noe Santillan Rincon.
According to investigators, Rincon had been shot multiple times. The Shelby County Medical Examiner determined he had suffered approximately 14 gunshot wounds.
Detectives later learned that Rincon had been staying at a residence with a woman who told investigators she last spoke with him shortly before 1:00 a.m. that morning. She said Rincon told her he was leaving to go to the store.
The woman reported that she later began receiving phone calls from Rincon’s phone placed by her 18-year-old daughter, Alishon Torres.
During the investigation, Torres was located and taken into custody on Thursday. According to court records, Torres told investigators that three to four weeks earlier a 5-year-old girl reported that Rincon had touched her inappropriately.
Torres told police that she encountered Rincon in the Willowview area and asked to borrow his phone before confronting him about the allegation. Investigators say Torres admitted to shooting Rincon multiple times inside a van during the confrontation.
After the shooting, Torres told investigators she drove the van to an abandoned house where she attempted to repaint it before leaving the vehicle at an apartment complex with her boyfriend. Torres told police her boyfriend was not involved in the shooting and had no knowledge of what happened.
During her arrest, officers recovered a firearm after it reportedly fell from Torres’ purse. Investigators said Torres admitted the weapon was one of two guns used in the shooting, and told detectives she had sold or given away the second gun after the incident.
Torres was taken into custody and is facing a murder charge in connection with the death of Noe Santillan Rincon.
