Initial reports came in around 6:40 p.m., with residents stating that several rounds were fired in quick succession. The incident was later linked to the Peregrine Apartments, where windows and parts of the building were reportedly struck by gunfire.

Witnesses in the area reported hearing bursts of shots that sounded like they may have come from multiple firearms, prompting concerns that more than one shooter may have been involved. Several residents took shelter indoors while others reported the incident to authorities.

Police and emergency personnel quickly arrived at the scene, securing the area and beginning an investigation. Crime scene tape was placed around sections of the property while investigators searched for shell casings and other evidence.

According to early reports, one person was believed to have been injured, though authorities indicated the injuries were not considered life-threatening. Officials have not yet confirmed whether the victim was inside the building, in a vehicle, or outside when the shooting occurred.

Investigators say the incident appears to be one of three separate shootings reported in Minneapolis within about 20 minutes, including another on the 2000 block of West River Road North, though police believe the incidents are not connected at this time.

Officers remained on scene for an extended period as forensic teams documented the damage and collected evidence. Authorities have not yet released descriptions of potential suspects.

The investigation remains ongoing, and police are urging anyone who witnessed the shooting or has information to contact investigators or submit an anonymous tip through CrimeStoppers.

Officials say additional updates will be released as more details become available.
