Bali Police spokesperson Ariasandy said samples from six bones were tested at the National Police Forensic Laboratory in Jakarta and matched genetic samples provided by Komarov’s parents. Visual identification was impossible due to the condition of the remains, discovered initially on February 26 near Ketewel Beach, Sukawati district, Gianyar.

Investigators also found bloodstains at a villa and in a Toyota Avanza in Tabanan regency that matched Komarov’s mother’s DNA, suggesting he was transported and held there prior to his disappearance on February 15 in Jimbaran. CCTV footage reportedly traced movements between Tabanan and Badung regencies.

One suspect, identified as C, has been arrested in West Nusa Tenggara, while six foreign nationals remain on the wanted list. Bali Police have requested Interpol red notices to aid cross-border pursuit. Four suspects are believed to have left Bali; two remain in Indonesia.

Authorities continue to investigate the motive and the role of each suspect in Komarov’s alleged kidnapping and murder.
