On March 1, 2026, at approximately 12:00 p.m., officers responded to a 911 hang-up call that directed them to a residence in the 6500 block of Cimarron Drive in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. When officers arrived, family members had already forced entry into the home after receiving no response while attempting to check on the occupant.
Inside the residence, officers located a woman suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The victim was identified as 40-year-old Kinyatta Ringo-Wimbly.
Police stated that no other occupants were found inside the home during the response. Detectives with the Pine Bluff Police Department launched a homicide investigation and later identified 61-year-old Samuel Wimbly as a person believed to be linked to the fatal shooting.
Authorities have issued a warrant for Samuel Wimbly on a charge of Capital Murder. He is described as approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing about 219 pounds. As of the latest update, he remains at large.
Law enforcement has not publicly clarified the relationship between the victim and the suspect.
The Arkansas State Crime Laboratory will conduct an autopsy to determine the official cause and manner of death. Investigators are asking anyone with information about the homicide or the whereabouts of Samuel Wimbly to contact the Pine Bluff Police Department.
The investigation remains active.
