On February 26, 2021, 38-year-old Cheretha Morrison was last seen after dropping her 4-year-old daughter off at school in Chicago. She never returned to pick her up.
The missing woman was identified as 38-year-old Cheretha Morrison.
According to family members, Morrison was four months pregnant at the time of her disappearance. She was a mother of two — a 20-year-old son and a young daughter who was just 4 years old in 2021.
Relatives said the day before she vanished, Morrison was seen arguing with someone on the phone. The morning of February 26, she stopped answering calls from her son, and her phone reportedly began going straight to voicemail.
When Morrison did not return to pick up her daughter later that afternoon, school staff transported the child to a police station. Authorities then contacted Morrison’s family. Concerned relatives went to her residence in the Englewood neighborhood and found the doors open, but Morrison was gone.
Three days later, her silver 2016 Porsche Cayenne was located approximately 20 miles away near Birchwood and Winchester Avenue in the Rogers Park neighborhood. The vehicle was parked in a tow zone and had a parking ticket attached. Family members said Morrison had previously visited that area.
Items reportedly found inside the vehicle included money, a jacket, and a crowbar. The vehicle was taken into police custody for processing.
Morrison is described as 4 feet 11 inches tall, approximately 140 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Her lower lip is pierced on the right side. She has multiple tattoos, including a large heart with “Cheryl” and “R.I.P.” on her upper left arm, “Gloryious” on her left forearm, a red rose on her upper right arm, the name “Rita” on the side of her neck, and a tattoo on her lower back.
The Chicago Police Department’s Special Victims Unit continues to investigate. No arrests have been announced.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Chicago Police Department at 312-747-8380.
