Allen High School was placed on a hard lockdown Friday, Feb. 20, as law enforcement responded to the campus, according to the Allen Independent School District.

District officials said the precautionary lockdown was initiated while officers conducted a search on campus. During a hard lockdown, students and staff remain secured inside classrooms or designated areas while law enforcement addresses the situation.
Authorities have not released specific details about what prompted the response. However, after officers completed their search, the lockdown was lifted and the campus transitioned to a “hold” status. Under a hold, classes typically resume normal activities inside the building, but hallway movement may be temporarily limited to ensure an orderly return to routine operations.
School officials emphasized that the measures were taken out of an abundance of caution to prioritize student and staff safety. Parents were notified of the situation through district communication channels.
No injuries have been reported in connection with the incident. Additional information may be released as it becomes available.
