The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign community is mourning the tragic loss of a student who was found dead on campus early Wednesday, Feb. 18. Police say a person was reportedly found dead by suicide in the PAR hall room.

Law enforcement and campus authorities responded after the student was discovered unresponsive in what officials described as an apparent suicide. The student was pronounced dead at the scene.
University officials have not released the student’s identity, pending notification of next of kin. Details surrounding the circumstances remain limited as authorities continue their investigation.
