Mother in Custody With $1 Million Bond After Toddler Disappearance Report

$1 Million Bond Set for Mother Charged After Toddler Reported Missing
On February 16, 2026 at approximately 3:00 a.m., police say officers responded to an apartment in Enterprise, Alabama after 33-year-old Adrienne Reid reported that her 2-year-old daughter had vanished from the residence. Authorities stated that the front door of the home was found open. As the investigation progressed, detectives conducted multiple interviews and determined the child had not been seen in several weeks.
The missing child was identified as 2-year-old Genesis Reid.
Adrienne Reid was charged on February 17, 2026, with false reporting to law enforcement authorities, a Class C felony.
On February 18, investigators, with assistance from East Alabama Canine Search and Recovery, conducted a third day of searches in the wooded areas surrounding the apartment complex, including drainage systems and sewer pipes. Authorities stated that the search did not yield any items of evidential value. Officials described the search as a standard investigative technique to rule out the immediate area.
During a bond hearing held via Zoom, a detective testified regarding the circumstances surrounding Genesis’ disappearance. Prosecutors argued that Reid is the only known suspect in the case and alleged that she has hidden or destroyed evidence. They further stated that she poses a flight risk if released.
Although the standard bond range for a Class C felony in Alabama is between $2,500 and $15,000, prosecutors requested a $1 million cash bond. The judge granted the request and additionally ordered that if Reid posts bond, she must be placed on GPS monitoring, submit to drug testing, report daily to the Enterprise Police Department, and remain within Coffee County.
Officials stated that the $1 million bond was sought to ensure Reid’s presence, emphasizing that she is currently believed to be the only person who knows where Genesis is located. Authorities also noted that it is too early to speculate on whether the child is deceased.
Investigators are seeking information regarding a woman identified only as Moriah, described as a person of interest. Authorities stated she frequented Levels Bar and Grille on Daleville Avenue in Enterprise as well as areas in Ozark. She has not been named as a suspect.
Police are asking anyone who had contact or interaction with Adrienne Reid between December 24, 2025 and February 16, 2026 to come forward. Officials emphasized that even minor information could be critical to the investigation.
Genesis Reid is described as a Black female with brown eyes and black hair. She is approximately 2 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 30 pounds. She was last known to be wearing pink Minnie Mouse pajamas.
Anyone with information is urged to contact authorities at 334-347-2222.
