A West Philadelphia community is on high alert after 9-year-old Thomas was struck and dragged by a hit-and-run driver on February 14, 2026. The vehicle—described as a burgundy 2010–2013 Honda Crosstour with mismatched body panels—fled the scene, leaving the child with a broken femur and severe facial injuries requiring plastic surgery.
Thomas has been released from the hospital, but his mother, Kimyetta Demby, says he faces a grueling road of rehabilitation and physical therapy. Police are urgently asking the public to check surveillance footage for the vehicle with mismatched panels. “Stopping is a moral obligation,” authorities reminded the public as the search for the driver intensifies.
