Jasmine Schreane, 33, was arrested after she shot a woman to death at Centennial Gardens apartments on 2/16/26, per SCSO.
From SCSO: “On February 16, 2026, SCSO patrol deputies responded to a disturbance and shots fired call at about 6:15 p.m. at a residence at the 7800 block of Capital Peak Lane E., located in the Centennial Gardens Apartments in southeast Shelby County.
Responding deputies determined that an adult female was vandalizing vehicles in the parking lot of the apartment complex and was attempting to flee in a vehicle when they arrived. They detained the female and identified her as suspect Jasmine Schreane.
Through further investigation, Detectives determined that before the deputies’ arrival, Schreane got out of her vehicle and began shooting at both victims, who were sitting in their car, striking the female victim. The female victim, later identified as Leah Carnes, 32, was rushed to Methodist Germantown Hospital via a personal vehicle, where she was later pronounced deceased.
Jasmine Schreane, 33, was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder, Attempted First Degree Murder, and Felony Vandalism.”
