Emergency medical personnel transported the victim to Piedmont Columbus Regional for emergency treatment. Despite lifesaving efforts, Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan pronounced her dead at 4:50 a.m.

The victim was later identified as 28-year-old Lexus Antrom.

Police said Antrom’s husband was also shot during the incident, sustaining a gunshot wound to the leg. He was transported to a local hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment and is expected to survive.

Investigators with the Violent Crimes Unit responded to take over the case. Detectives subsequently served warrants on 22-year-old Kevawn Davenport while he remained hospitalized for injuries connected to the incident.

Authorities stated that Davenport and Antrom were involved in a domestic altercation that escalated into gunfire.

Davenport has been charged with:

Murder

Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime

Police say he will be transferred to the Muscogee County Jail once he is medically cleared for release from the hospital.

The investigation remains ongoing.
