UPDATE: Woman Charged With Murder After Fatal Shooting at Apartment Complex in Houston

UPDATE: On February 8, 2026 shortly before 1 a.m., police say a call came in about a person shot at Wesley Square Apartments on Calhoun Road in Houston, Texas. The victim was taken to a hospital in a private vehicle, but she was pronounced deceased.
The victim was identified as 26-year-old Asia Monet Stewart.
Further investigation revealed multiple people were hanging out within the apartment complex parking lot when a physical altercation took place involving multiple females at the location. Stewart was enlisted to help a friend when 25-year-old Dasja Wilmore intervened and began fighting with Stewart. The suspect then pulled out a pistol and shot Steward more than one time.
Wilmore was known to multiple people at the location. Officers consulted with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and a charge of murder was filed.
On February 11, Wilmore was taken into custody and formally charged with murder. The charge was filed in the 178th Criminal District Court. She is currently being held in the Harris County Jail.
