Nancy Bridges began her career with GPISD in 1977 as a classroom teacher, setting the foundation for a lifetime dedicated to student success and district leadership. Over the decades, she served in numerous roles that reflected both her expertise and commitment, including assistant principal, principal, director, and eventually deputy superintendent of Business Operations, a position she held until her retirement in June 2019.

Her passion for education extended beyond GPISD. Nancy also contributed to the development of future educators as an adjunct professor at the University of Texas at Arlington and as a supervisor for student teachers at Dallas Baptist University, sharing her knowledge and mentorship with the next generation.

Even after retirement, her commitment to the district never wavered. In June 2023, Nancy was elected to the GPISD Board of Trustees, where she served as Board Secretary at the time of her passing. District leaders and colleagues remember her as a steady presence whose insight and dedication helped guide important decisions.

GPISD Board President Amber Moffitt reflected on the loss, noting that the district is deeply grateful for Nancy’s decades of service and that she will be profoundly missed.
