Amber Russell ORANGEVILLE, Ontario — Amber Russell, a beloved daughter, devoted mother, cherished sister, and treasured friend, died, her family has confirmed. Her passing has sent waves of sorrow throughout Orangeville and surrounding communities, where she was known for her compassion, warmth, and generous spirit.
Amber was born on June 8, 1996, in Orangeville, and spent her life deeply rooted in the community she loved. She was known for her kindness, her radiant energy, and her unwavering dedication to her family and friends. As a young mother, Amber’s greatest pride was her son, whom she cherished with boundless love and devotion.
Family and friends remember Amber as a natural nurturer — someone who offered comfort, encouragement, and understanding without hesitation. Whether lending a listening ear, standing as a steadfast support in times of need, or simply brightening someone’s day with her joyful presence, she touched countless lives with her genuine heart.
Amber also had a passion for community involvement. She volunteered regularly with local food drives and youth programs, championing causes that helped uplift and empower others. Her work with children, in particular, reflected her nurturing nature and her belief in creating safe, supportive spaces for young people to thrive.
“Amber’s generosity knew no bounds,” said a longtime family friend. “She was the first to help, the last to ask for anything in return. Her light will continue to shine in the many lives she helped shape.”
In addition to her son, Amber is survived by her parents, Diana and Michael Russell; her siblings, Jessica (Eric) Thompson and Connor Russell; her nephew Eli Thompson; and a wide circle of extended family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Margaret and James Russell, whose influence helped nurture her kind and compassionate spirit.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2026, from 3–7 p.m. at Dufferin Funeral Home in Orangeville, followed by a funeral service on Friday at 11 a.m. The service will celebrate Amber’s life and legacy of love, generosity, and community impact. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to the Orangeville Community Youth Fund or the Dufferin County Food Bank, two organizations that reflect Amber’s lifelong commitment to helping others.
Amber Russell’s life was a testament to compassion, courage, and joy. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy lives on through her son, her family, and the many individuals whose lives were enriched by her presence and spirit.
