Police Scotland have launched a murder investigation after a person was found dead in a swimming pool at Tollcross Park on Monday, February 9.
Officers from Police Scotland, Greater Glasgow, were called to the Tollcross International Swimming Centre, located at 350 Wellshot Road, after reports that a person had been found unresponsive. Upon arrival, emergency responders confirmed the individual was deceased and had suffered an apparent stab wound.
Park Evacuated as Forensic Examination Continues
The area was immediately secured, and everyone within Tollcross Park and the swimming center was evacuated as law enforcement began their investigation. Forensic officers remain on scene, carrying out detailed examinations and gathering evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
Police have not released the identity of the victim, and no arrests have been confirmed at this time. Detectives are reviewing CCTV footage from the area and speaking with witnesses who may have been in or around the park earlier in the day.
Authorities have increased patrols in the surrounding area while enquiries continue and are urging anyone with information that could assist the investigation to contact Police Scotland.
