Teen Charged with Killing His Barber Now Suspected in 19-Year-Old’s Murder

Indianapolis Detectives Believe 16-Year-Old Dominique Sherman May Be Tied to Two Separate Killings Months Apart
An Indianapolis teenager already charged with murdering his barber is now suspected in the earlier killing of a 19-year-old man, according to local investigators.
Police say 16-year-old Dominique Sherman is accused of shooting 35-year-old barber Stephen Coach on November 8, 2025, near 39th and Pennsylvania after Coach came to the CityView Apartments to trade a watch for a gun.
Court documents allege Sherman shot Coach, then fled in the barber’s vehicle as cameras in the area captured the pair together shortly before the killing and recorded the moments after the gunfire.
Sherman, who is being tried as an adult, has been charged with murder, robbery resulting in serious bodily injury, and dangerous possession of a firearm by a child, and is being held without bond, records show.
After news broke of Sherman’s arrest, the mother of 19-year-old Isaiah Booker contacted reporters and said detectives told her Sherman is their suspect in her son’s March 30, 2025 shooting death at the Carriage House East Apartments.
“They said he was identified by family members,” she explained. “I’ve been watching his name for months, even before this second crime.”
Police say the Booker case remains an active investigation and no charges have been filed against Sherman in that homicide, urging anyone with information to contact Indianapolis Metropolitan Police or Crime Stoppers.
