Warren County Prosecutor David Fornshell said 29-year-old Olivia Clendenin attended the 2025 NYE party with both men, who began talking and soon realized they were simultaneously in relationships with her.
When Clendenin was unable to convince her now ex-husband to leave the gathering, prosecutors said she left the scene, obtained a .40-caliber handgun, and returned, firing eight shots.
“She had obtained a gun and when she drove back, she did a donut in the front yard,” Clearcreek Township Police Chief Terrill said. “As she passed the front door area, she fired off a couple shots.”
Authorities said an unrelated man who had been sitting on the porch was struck in the stomach and suffered life-threatening injuries.
Clendenin attempted to flee following the shooting but crashed her vehicle shortly afterward, Fornshell said.
“The victim had simply been invited to a New Year’s Eve party and found himself in the middle of Clendenin’s barrage of gunfire,” Fornshell said Tuesday. “Clendenin may have started 2025 as a free person but will spend the rest of 2026 — and at a minimum the decade thereafter — incarcerated for attempting to murder at least one of her romantic interests, albeit striking and almost killing an innocent victim.”
Fornshell said Clendenin faces a minimum of 10 years in prison. She has not yet been sentenced.
