GAFFNEY, S.C. — Three individuals have been arrested and two others remain at large in connection with a shooting that occurred at the McDonald’s on E. Frederick Street on December 1, 2025.
The shooting injured three of the defendants as well as an innocent bystander who was sitting in his vehicle at the time of the incident.
Arrest warrants for five suspects were signed Friday, January 30, by Gaffney Police Major Brian Blanton following a meeting with prosecutors from the Solicitor’s Office, who reviewed video surveillance footage from the scene.




Isaiah Marquis Smith and Cortrell Rashard Tate were taken into custody on Monday, February 2. Jaubron Cord’e Tate turned himself in to the Gaffney Police Department on Wednesday, February 4. Authorities are still searching for Elijah Eugene Fonnah and David Elijah Allen Jr., both 18 years old.
Cortrell Tate is charged with three counts of attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, breach of peace aggravated in nature, and two counts of discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle.
Smith is charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, breach of peace aggravated in nature, assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, and discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle.
Jaubron Tate is charged with attempted murder, four counts of pointing and presenting a firearm at a person, breach of peace aggravated in nature, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
All three defendants were denied bond by the City Judge.
