The Graham Police Department, working in close coordination with the Greensboro Police Department, High Point Police Department , the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, and the ATF, have made an arrest in connection with the December 24, 2025, shooting at the Cook Out restaurant located at 311 S. Main Street in Graham.
Earlier today, investigators executed a search warrant at a residence in Greensboro, where Shyheim Duzhe Jones, 31, of Greensboro, was taken into custody without incident.
The arrest stems from a robbery attempt and shooting that occurred at approximately 6:43 a.m. on December 24, 2025.
Responding officers located Daris Johnson suffering from a single gunshot wound. Mr. Johnson was treated and later released from a local hospital.
Through detailed investigative work, detectives linked Jones to a pattern of similar crimes involving Cook Out locations across the region, including:
• December 27, 2025: Armed robbery in High Point
• February 4, 2026: Robbery in Winston-Salem
Jones is charged in the Graham case with Attempted Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Bodily Injury. He faces additional charges related to the High Point and Winston-Salem incidents and is currently being held without bond at the Guilford County Detention Center.
This arrest reflects strong investigative work and coordinated efforts between local, state, and federal law enforcement partners.
