Things got extremely heated at an Atlantic Community School meeting on February 4. See video in comments.
It is alleged that guidance counselor Jesse McCann had been inappropriately texting a student (or students). According to sources, the superintendent not only did not report this, but was planning to allow McCann to quietly resign. Sources say that this is not the first time McCann has been accused of something similar.
According to a parent’s comments in this meeting, the superintendent (Beth Johnson) allegedly made comments blaming the victim. A father claims Johnson told him, “Well, high school girls, they flirt with their male teachers all the time.”
Parents showed up to this meeting to share their opinions, and boy, did they 😅
Sadly, this is often what it takes.
DHHS says they found the allegations “unfounded,” but Atlantic Police are still investigating.
Some parents say they have emails to prove they alerted the school back in 2024.
