Zachary Rubin UConn Obituary Stirling NJ Death:- It is with deep sadness that the University of Connecticut (UConn) community announces the passing of Zachary Rubin, a first-year student from Stirling, New Jersey, on February 3, 2026.
Zachary was pursuing a Finance degree in the School of Business and had recently added a second major in Music through the School of Fine Arts, reflecting his diverse talents and academic ambitions.
A gifted musician, Zachary was an accomplished saxophonist who actively contributed to UConn’s musical community. He performed with the Varsity/Pep Band, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, and the Fresh Reeds saxophone quartet.
His passion for music extended beyond college; during high school at Watchung Regional, he participated in the Marching Band, Jazz Band, Pit Orchestra, and the Tri-M Music Honors Society. He also earned the distinction of representing his high school at the All-State Band sponsored by the New Jersey Music Educators Association.
Zachary’s passing is a profound loss for both his family and the UConn community. Condolences can be sent to the Dean of Students Office at 233 Glenbrook Road, Unit-4062, Storrs, CT 06269-4062.
