DALLAS, Texas — A 49-year-old woman is in custody and facing a murder charge following a shooting in the Red Bird area of Dallas that left another woman dead Monday afternoon, according to police.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire at a location in the Red Bird neighborhood during the afternoon hours. When they arrived, they found an adult woman suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
Investigators identified the suspect at the scene, and the 49-year-old woman was taken into custody without incident. Police have not disclosed the relationship between the suspect and the victim or what led up to the shooting.
